Florida’s Hydroponic Pot: House-Grown and Super-Potent

California may be the center of the marijuana trade and the controversies over its legalization. But Florida has surpassed it in one important category: the Sunshine State is now the country’s leader in indoor marijuana cultivation. It is a potent distinction because most of the marijuana grown this way is cultured hydroponically – that is, mostly without soil and with a carefully calibrated cocktail of chemicals and lighting – to create some of the highest level of highs on the market.

In 2006, Florida law enforcement here discovered 480 homes growing marijuana indoors. Last year, 1,022 grow houses were busted. “This isn’t your grandma’s marijuana,” quipped a Miami-Dade narcotics officer at one bust as he tossed garbage bags stuffed with confiscated marijuana into an unmarked police truck. Levels of THC – the agent in marijuana that produces feelings of euphoria, and in some users mild hallucinations and paranoia – have risen dramatically because of indoor techniques. Thirty years ago, most marijuana contained about 7% THC. Today, indoor growers boast THC levels of 25% or higher thanks to the additional care that indoor plants receive. Principles of Responsible Cannabis Use

Posted by Brudder Stoner On July - 30 - 2009

The NORML (National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws) Board of Directors recently issued the following statement entitled Principles of Responsible Cannabis Use, which defines the conduct which is; believe that any responsible marijuana smoker should follow.

Medical Marijuana

“I. ADULTS ONLY Cannabis consumption is for adults only. It is irresponsible to provide cannabis to children. Many things and activities are suitable for young people, but others absolutely are not. Children do not drive cars, enter into contracts, or marry, and they must not use drugs. As it is unrealistic to demand lifetime abstinence from cars, contracts and marriage, however, it is unrealistic to expect lifetime abstinence from all intoxicants, including alcohol. Rather, our expectation and hope for young people is that they grow up to be responsible adults. Our obligation to them is to demonstrate what that means.

II. NO DRIVING the responsible cannabis consumer does not operate a motor vehicle or other dangerous machinery impaired by cannabis, nor (like other responsible citizens) impaired by any other substance or condition, including some medicines and fatigue. Although cannabis is said by most experts to be safer than alcohol and many prescription drugs with motorists, responsible cannabis consumers never operate motor vehicles in an impaired condition. Public safety demands not only that impaired drivers be taken off the road, but that objective measures of impairment be developed and used, rather than chemical testing.

A Beautiful Journey

Posted by Papa Roach On July - 29 - 2009

Every Beginning has an end. The distance between the beginning and an end is a journey an the experiences one goes thru during that period is what makes the journey memorable or not. Life’s one such long journey punctuated by coountless no. of small journeys in between that we choose to venture on. As such It is mostly upto us wether we enjoy the journey or not. You could take the most negative of aspects an turn it into something positive or you could whine an complain about it. Either way, the world around you is still moving ahead in their journey. Sometimes it takes a spliff for one to actually sit back, relax an reflect upon the trials an tribulations an put everything in perspective. Its like having an ephiphany everytime one is stoned. The destination is finalized even before the journey begins amd once teh journey begins, there are bound to be hiccups but as human beings one should accept the hiccups an enjoy whatever is around us. ON THAT NOTE: our dear friend an your beloved admin of blogginghigh Purple Knickers is currently en route to visit the other admins in this part of the world. However, after embarking on the journey, Purple Knickers is now stranded(not LOST island stranded) in a different country in a different hemisphere due to unforeseen circumstances. SO Purple Knickers: wherever in the world you are, enjoy the impromptu pit stop and despair not cos jus like any beginning has an end an every journey has a destination, you too will arrive at your destination an unite with us an there will be nothing but good times ahead. AMEN!!!

Marijuana Judge

High Thought – It’s such a pity how sometimes small misunderstandings can have consequences that give new shapes to existing relationships. It is through arguments and our ability on how to handle a situation that determines true character. It paints a picture about who we are, our maturity, our attitudes towards situations, our ability to cope with and not only reason out and find solution for what’s at hand; but also leave us with two very valid choices. 1. We either take the high-road and communicate, debate, apologize and gain strength or 2. We ignore, yell, bitch, hold our ground, raise our voice and travel in circles only to realize that it is only me that is holding onto this temper without cause. Why do people waste their energy and time to hold grudges? Why do people still act like they are 14? When does the time come to make amends in ones life and be looked as, as the young, mature, smart individual that they are? Do people ever look at a situation and think… what if the roles were reversed? Would they act the same way as I am acting? Would they forgive and forget or keep talking in a monotone voice pretending that nothing fazes them when in reality, the situation needs confrontation and clarity? How long would they be mad for? Would their voices be loud? Why take matters ‘digital’ when the friendship began during a face-face encounter? Time holds the key to everything. Life is too short to be wasted on events in the past. Have I ever wronged someone where they have forgiven me? Do I need an apology? Am I even a friend? I stop and think for a moment…

We smoked, we played, we lost, we drove off leaving our friends waiting in the rain for 5 hours: hungry, tired and without a ride because that’s the way we are. Cheers.
